UV Dinner

yes.. this is a long overdue blog about United Voice's 1st Anniversary dinner. Was waiting to get some photos from Swee Lan....

The food was good (I think...didn't get to eat much), the MC was very good, the entertainment was good. It's good to see all the UV members, their frens & families truly enjoying themselves. One thing that makes this dinner amazing is that all the guest came on time!! We only started dinner a few minutes late becoz the MC was late. hahahahaha At the end of the dinner, you can really feel a sense of relief from those of us who were involved in organizing the dinner. Tiring but it's really worth it after seeing everyone having so much fun.

UV members & volunteers hard at work "beautifying" the stairs.
The rest of us are working hard too! haha
Derrick(UV vice-president) & Johari(UV President) greeting guest at the door.
With 2 "leng luis" at his left & right, Steven is very happy to help out at the reception table!! hahahahahaha
Big hall....can fit 52 tables in there
Peggy(UV member) keeping us entertain wif her keyboard skills...
Nice cake...
A dance presentation by the Friendship Club
This is probably one of the best part of the dinner. The UV members going on stage for toasting.
The VIPs enjoying themselves after dinner...
Selling UV products. If you squint your eyes and look at the center..you can see chilipadi...er.. I mean Ee Chia helping out. keke

Stripping them of their humanity....

"It fills me with rage to hear about it and read about it. The pity I once had for foreign troops in Iraq is gone. It's been eradicated by the atrocities in Abu Ghraib, the deaths in Haditha and the latest news of rapes and killings. I look at them in their armored vehicles and to be honest- I can't bring myself to care whether they are 19 or 39. I can't bring myself to care if they make it back home alive. I can't bring myself to care anymore about the wife or parents or children they left behind. I can't bring myself to care because it's difficult to see beyond the horrors. I look at them and wonder just how many innocents they killed and how many more they'll kill before they go home. How many more young Iraqi girls will they rape?" ~~~ Baghdad Burning

How can the ppl who authorized the war go to sleep at nite with so much blood on their hands? What is worst then killing & murdering these innocent people? Taking away the very thing that makes us human....our compassion for one another.
