2nd Day at Tokyo-Orientation
Today is the first of the many orientation days. They are 5 participants in this course and I'm the only female. In the morning we had a briefing about the facilities, rules & regulations of Tokyo International Center(TIC). In the afternoon we saw a video on how to use the subway or trains, where and how to buy tickets. If you've seen the rail map u will know what I'm talking about. After the video I told the lady that we are even more confused!! hahaha
Later we had a briefing about our program schedule by a JICA officer, Ms Sadaie. Funny she says the title of our course "Employment Promotion & Realization of Decent Work of Persons with Disabilities" is very long so should we just call it "Decent work for PWDs". Straight away I agreed with her...... took me a few weeks to remember that title!!
Our main training coordinator is Ms Matsuura, Riko. I think it will take a while before I can remember all their names. I'm good with faces but very, very bad with names.
The communications room where we do photocopying, printing, rent videos, CDs, karaoke, see the information counter and the travel agent.
Entrance to the TIC. Main door will be locked at 11:30pm but the lady told us that you can enter at another place if we come back later than 11:30pm. Phew!! At least I know I won't be lock out if I lepak way past that time........
Laundry Room. She's showing us the machine that's specially and only for wheelchair users to use.
