1st day at Tokyo
Amazing...I survived the 7 hours trip without vomitting. Took 2 motion sickness pills and slept for about 4 hours and I ate sandwiches! Usually any flying that's more than 3 hours.... u will see my face turning green. ohh I like JAL... dun have the usual airplane smell that I hate.
Anyway see the 2 clowns below... Liz & Jo send me off at KLIA... they want to make sure that I REALLY leave the country!! hahaha
I'm just practising the victory sign that most Jap will use when taking photos!
Where I'll be staying for the next 6 weeks....JICA Tokyo International Center
Met 2 participants from my course....we were on the same bus from the airport. The coordinators were there too, Ms Yayoi Kashitani and Ms Riko Matsuura.
The disable toilet in the room for disabled. This toilet is huge... compare to the one in my room..... the bathtub is very deep...almost half my height. Wonder how Swee Lan can get on & off the bathtub without a ladder a few years ago?! hahahahahah
My room......first thing I did? Plug in my computer.....hahahahBought my own laundry basket....it's foldable...very convenient!
Streets of Tokyo....went straight to the 100 Yen shop! Funny... when I was walking out I saw a guy walking the same route as me and holding the same map so I asked him if he's heading to where I'm heading. He doesn't know where he wants to go so I said why dun I bring u to the 100 yen shop (cheh!!) Turns out he was one of the participants in the same course as me!... Narend Prasad from Fiji. So the both of us was just walking & walking around the streets...... and a lot of Japs were just looking at him becoz he's black..... weird like they never see a black guy before!
This is what I had for brunch..... pork Ramen. You have to buy the ticket first and then go in to this very, very small shop and pass them the ticket. There weren't any english on the machine so I anyhow press and hope that there won't be any brinjal in my noodles! hahaha phew thank god it was good tasty porky ramen! Cost me about RM25 but it's was delicious! and the portion is huge!
of course how to resist not eating sushi in Japan? 4 pieces for 290 Yen... not very expensive.... will have it for teatime. Anyone wants to join me? No? hahahahah
