Special Olympics

Did you catch the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics in Shanghai about 2 weeks ago? It is really spectacular. Can't wait for the Olympics next year. UV has 2 members who represented Malaysia in bowling, Seng Kit (who won a silver) & Zen Lee. Haven't heard of the Special Olympics? Check out the website. Our Malaysian team bagged four gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals.

Even when SO Malaysia asked for sponsorship they decline. Really, really embarrasing. The parents and volunteers had to fork out their own $$$ just to attend the SO World Games at Shanghai.

Maybe the government should set their standards higher and refocus their priority to train the disabled people rather then just settle for undiscipline, unfocused, money-grabbing athletics.
